The National Seismic Monitoring Centre pinpointed the epicentre near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. The quake originated at a depth of 94 kilometres and was recorded at 11:47 am.

The tremors weren’t confined to just India. Residents in Pakistan’s Islamabad and Lahore also reported feeling the earthquake.

According to Pakistani media outlets, cities like Peshawar, Mardan, and Kohat, along with numerous other areas including Lower Dir, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, experienced tremors. The shaking extended to Swabi, Swat, Sargodha, and even Kotli in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit.

Punjab Also Affected

In Punjab, cities including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Sahiwal, Pindi Bhattian, and Toba Tek Singh all felt the impact of the quake. As reported by ARY News, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

This recent earthquake follows another tremor just a week prior. Last Saturday, a quake of 5.5 magnitude shook Pakistan’s capital and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces.
